After living in Singapore for so many years, when I think of Singapore what jumps to attention is the multitude of colours and races inhabiting on this peaceful island. A Koptiam experience with steaming cups of coffee, saucers of soft-boiled eggs and crisp slices of toast slathered with thick yellow butter and kaya is one that we cannot live without. This is an uniquely singaporean feature which draws in people to have a cosy hang out with friends amd family in these old school coffee shops which eventually ends up in simple meals for lunch and probably a few more rounds of strong coffee. 

I have tried to bring to life this unique picture of an Uncle hard at work at Heap Seng Leong kopitiam. Even at his age he is laboriously working hard to serve his customers and this photograph just warms our hearts. I hope I have done enough justice to this picture through my art.
