Being a nurse during the pandemic has been hard and strenuous both mentally and physically. The emotional impact of it towards health, family and social lifestyles has been tremendous. Nevertheless, the courage to keep going was fuelled by the strive to do something for a country that has blessed me with a better life and a hopeful future. This piece portrays the strength of Singapore fighting Covid-19 by highlighting the important monuments and buildings that makes Singapore a vibrant city despite being a tiny red dot on the map around the South East Asia region. The birds above the Singapore Flyer depicts hope and peace for the future generations to come. The reflections of the city skyline on the water shows resilience of Singapore facing any challenges that may be in the future. It's painted using acrylic depicting the sunset colours that's close to the colours of the Singapore flag. Hence the name of the painting, the Red Dot Republic.
